You may know her as “Mama Afrika”, she is the most famous South African singer and our inspiration for our earrings: Miriam Makeba. She popularized African music while being an activist fighting against Apartheid through her music and actions. Although her life was full of obstacles due to her origins and color of her skin, she kept the faith and continued to fight through her art. That is why we wanted to honor her with our jewelry.
